This stylish medieval gorget not only impresses with its authentic appearance, but also offers excellent value for money. It is the perfect choice for anyone looking to complete their knight’s armour with a detailed, high-quality, and yet affordable piece.

The gorget was an essential part of late medieval armour. It evolved in the late Middle Ages from the bevor, which protected the neck and was worn between the suit of armour and the helmet. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the gorget increasingly lost its original protective function and became more of a decorative badge, often worn on a chain.

This wearable reconstruction of a late medieval plate armour for the throat and neck (or rather the upper torso) is made from 1.2 mm steel. It consists of two parts – a chest and a back piece, which are fastened on both sides with riveted leather straps. Pre-punched holes in the straps allow for individual adjustment, ensuring optimal protection and a comfortable fit. Additionally, the edges are rolled all around, and it features a riveted, approx. 3 cm high stand-up collar. The back is blackened for better corrosion resistance.

This collar is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance settings. Equally suited for the portrayal of a broad array of historical figures and fictional/fantasy characters, it will make your transformation into a proud, noble knight or warrior just perfect, whether used for medieval re-enactment, LARP, stage, TV/film, costuming or cosplay.

Specs may slightly vary from piece to piece.

Please note:
To ensure that this armour is the right fit for you, please remember to take your measurements over your gambeson and/or any piece of clothing or chainmail you may plan to wear underneath!

The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain plate armour on a regular basis, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
