This is a very attractive and wearable reconstruction of a French gorget from the 13th century. The original was displayed in the Wallace Collection and can now be seen at the Parision Louvre. It is described thoroughly in Sir Guy Francis Lakingin’s book “A record of European Armours and Arms through Seven Centuries”.
The leather strap is used to adjust the collar size individually.
