Red Dragon HEMA Synthetic XT Single Hand Blade
The Red Dragon HEMA Synthetic Single Hand Blades are manufactured from their own special blend of plastic to provide a strong and flexible sparring blade. They are designed to flex along the last 1/3 of their length towards the tip, allowing for much safer thrusting than with conventional wooden wasters or shinai. The blade/tang joint (traditionally a weak point) is reinforced by a high tensile steel rod running along the full length of the handle. This also removes any flex in the handle traditionally associated with plastic training swords. The edges are left smooth to prevent friction burns, but can be roughened with sandpaper for a better bind.

Red Dragon HEMA Synthetic Basket Hilt Guard, Black
The Red Dragon HEMA Synthetic Basket Hilt Guard was developed in conjunction with Martin Austwick of the English Martial Arts Academy and are great for practicing techniques from George Silver and Highland Broadsword fighting manuals. They are large enough to accommodate padded gloves if required, to add an extra margin of safety.
The guards have been developed to fit into any of the synthetic blades in the Red Dragon HEMA range. The purpose-blended performance plastic used in these guards makes them virtually indestructible in normal use.
