Medieval half-boot, turn-sewn

These ankle-high shoes replicate archeological finds in Schleswig and Konstanz, Germany. They are suitable for the period 1100 – 1400 a.d.
A turnshoe was a type of footwear made of leather that was used during the Middle Ages.
It was so named because it was put together inside-out, and then was turned right side out once finished.

Details:
– above ankle outer lacing
– the upper leather is 1.8 mm thick, made with non-chemical-based tanning methods
– 4mm thick leather sole, also with vegetable tanning
– hand-made in the authentic turn-sewn method

Please note:
These shoes’ durability is not comparable to modern footwear. They are sensitive to asphalt and gravel. We recommend shoe inserts and wearing pattens.

The sizes are normal but the shape is narrow, especcially at the toes.
We recommend to choose one size larger if you like it to have spaciously or
if your feet are wide.
