Hand-forged knife blades of Damascus steel as they were to the Romans and Celts in use. However, such Damask blades were very appreciated among the Germans and Vikings, as Damascene knife blades combine hardness with resilience admirable manner – the blade is thus cutting properties and unbreakable.
This noble knife blade damask is perfect in order to produce with very low costs an authentic Damask knives themselves and create a unique piece that corresponds in form and function to their own standards.
The knife blade Damaskis forged from two different steel grades of AISI 4340 is a hard quenched and tempered steel having a low carbon content, in addition to nickel and chromium also contains molybdenum and has a high toughness, and from 15N20 a nickel-containing steel having good properties, in processing in the damask produced steel beautiful bright parts and good contrast. Both steels together form the beautifully flamed damask steel. Each resulting forged piece has its distinctive drawing. The hardness is 58 to 60 HRC Rockwell.
