Beskrivning
Pair of Jack-Chains with mid rib, 2 mm steel
A pair of hand-crafted, 2 mm thick steel jack-chains for sewing, looping, riveting or lacing to gambeson sleeves.
Jack-chains were an important part of infantry armour in late medieval times. As foot soldiers were usually not protected by plate armour, but wore a padded doublet, so-called arming-jack or gambeson, the jack-chains were fastened to the jacket’s sleeves to protect the arms.
