3V Pendleton Mini Hunter, Hunting Knife with CPM 3-V steel blade and DLC-coating
Cold Steel’s President Lynn C. Thompson bought the first knife that custom maker Lloyd Pendleton ever made in 1973. The two went
on to be fast friends, and together they collaborated on some of Cold Steel’s most popular and critically acclaimed hunting
knives, the Pendleton Series.
The Pendleton Mini Hunter was designed with one goal in mind: to pare down a functional hunting knife to the smallest size that
practicality would allow. Despite its diminutive size and unassuming appearance, this excellent hunting knife is capable of
skinning, dressing and processing even large game. The Mini Hunter is an indispensable tool that makes a perfect addition to any
hunting pack or survival kit.
The Mini Hunter comes complete with a tough, weather resistant Secure-Ex® sheath which locks it safely in place while
remaining light enough to carry 24 hours a day.
As from 2015, the Pendleton Mini Hunter is also available in premium American CPM 3-V high carbon steel, with a hard-wearing DLC
(Diamond Like) coating for superior durability in the field.
CPM 3-V Steel
American CPM 3-V takes an extremely fine edge that is highly chip-resistant, and in recent years it has proved very
popular with custom knife makers. Though costly, this modern tool steel is astonishingly tough and exceptionally wear-resistant.
It is a fine-grained powdered steel, with a very uniform microstructure giving it excellent impact resistance and fine edge
holding performance and making it perfectly suited for larger blades where extreme toughness is required.
