Knife blades of Damascus steel were already among the Romans and Celts in use, because such damascene knife blades combine hardness with resilience admirable manner – the knife blade is thus cutting properties and unbreakable.
This classic tang Damascus steel blade is perfect with little cost to manufacture a damask knife itself, thus creating a unique piece that meets in form and function to their own standards.
The tang blade made of Damask is made of two different types of steel: AISI 4340is a hard quenched and tempered steel having a low carbon content, in addition to nickel and chromium also contains molybdenum and has a high toughness. And from 15N20 a nickel-containing steel produced with good properties in processing in damask steel lovely bright portions and good contrast. Both steels together form the beautifully flamed damask steel. Each resulting forged piece has its distinctive drawing.
The hardness of the blade is 58 to 60 HRC Rockwell.
The knife blade has the following dimensions :
Geaamtlänge 18.5 cm
cutting 8 cm
blade width of 3 cm
blade back 4 mm
